“We now can’t just shoot a movie and market it through a TV advert…we have to market it on all of those thingies. But, it has made the community and world smaller so you can see a lot of interesting movie/films beyond a theater.”

Jack Miller (John J. Miller IV for short)

FILMS HAVE MADE PEOPLE LARGER THAN LIFE… YOUR THOUGHTS?

Your favorite famous person and why their influence improves our world: Danny Boyle and Antony Dod Mantle. These guys are making the best crap out there right now because of where they’re placing the camera and how it interacts with the story. David Fincher seems to know what he’s doing.
Your least favorite famous person and aspects of their life which you hope never influence others: George Lucas. (J slash K). He’s had more influence on film then anyone else alive…or dead.

JUST FOR FUN

A recent a ha moment: My recent puke and rally, or going to Chasers…I can’t decide which.
The next exciting thing. Experiencing the world.
The importance of story. I’d say it’s important.
The last film you watched before you knew you wanted to make films? Cool Runnings
Who are the best filmmakers alive? Anyone hustling at it.

NOT TO GET POLITICAL BUT…

Thoughts on how film benefits a city?

How has social media changed the business of film? We now can’t just shoot a movie and market it through a TV advert…we have to market it on all of those thingies. But, it has made the community and world smaller so you can see a lot of interesting movie/films beyond a theater.
What have you seen as the affects of losing the NC Film Incentives? Suckiness
Film = Jobs..?  Explain. Media, with budgets, employs people. It’s complicated.
