FILMS HAVE MADE PEOPLE LARGER THAN LIFE… YOUR THOUGHTS?

Your favorite famous person and why their influence improves our world: Bree Newsome went out there and did something bold, original, interesting and eyecatching and made a huge statement by her actions.
Your least favorite famous person and aspects of their life which you hope never influence others: Those who make films or tv shows of women being beaten then killed in interesting ways. Enough is enough.

JUST FOR FUN

A recent a ha moment: Camping for 5 days and realizing I needed even less stuff than the little I had brought on that trip.
The next exciting thing. I want to make more and more minidocumentaries for obscure nonprofits that serve the poor that never could have dreamt that a little doc was within reach of their tiny budgets.
The importance of story. Without a story, it is a hodepodge and the typical person’s mind does not want a hodgepodgeit
wants a story arc. That desire is an ancient as our love of gathering around campfires.
Who are the best filmmakers alive? Christopher Guest. The next best thing to a good documentary is a good mockumentary!

NOT TO GET POLITICAL BUT…

Thoughts on how film benefits a city? Visitors want to see some of the sites. They may stop off 77 or 85 for a few minutes to get a photo next to something they remember from a show or movie.
How has social media changed the business of film? Easier for people to access and rewatch stuff.
What have you seen as the affects of losing the NC Film Incentives? I have not seen these effects; just heard about them.
Film = Jobs..?  Explain. It is an industry just like manufacturing or tourism are industries. We all think we are experts on movies b/c we have watched a lot of them but a lot goes on behind the scenes and there are jobs for electricians, carpenters and other craft in addition to the other roles we think of when we think about movie making.
