Local Film Makers Gather to Redefine Cross-Cultural Collaboration

In light of all of the recent cultural division across the country, the Charlotte 48 Hour film festival is here to show us what extraordinary cross-cultural cooperation and diversity can accomplish.
Filmmakers, actors, directors, sound engineers and a host of creatives converged in teams to write, film, and edit short films in just 48 frenetic and sleepless hours. Only given a genre, a prop, a line of dialogue, and a character name, filmmaking teams compete to see who can create the best short film in under 48 hours.

The 48 Hour Film Festival is about bringing Charlotte together with diversity that extends well beyond the usual myopic box checking of gender and color. These talented creatives range from first time filmmakers and pros, spanning generations with diversity in thought, culture, vision, and talent.
It has been my experience that the creatives were always the first to break barriers or just ignore them completely. This is what I love about creatives and it is the future and promise of what Charlotte is all about.

Do yourself a favor and come and see and amazing example of what a motivated and diverse group of creative people can do. I have only see a few of the films but last years films were clever, funny, thought-provoking, and evocative.

These filmmakers are putting Charlotte on the map and are giving us an example of the best of creativity and community.
